You can't choose a web designer simply by reviewing someone's portfolio. There also has to be a good match in terms of skills, mindset and personal chemistry.
Here are a few things you should know about me.
The basics. I'm a freelance designer who has specialized in websites and web applications since 1996. I call Canada home but frequently travel to my former base of Boston to meet with clients there (which explains my bizarre Canadian/Boston accent!).
Clientele. My experience spans hi-tech, finance, healthcare and other industries. Startups, Fortune 500s, design agencies and venture capitalists all have me in their Rolodexes. Also, I play nice with other freelancers (e.g. developers, information architects, copywriters) who bring me on for their projects.
Philosophy. Design isn't all about making pretty pictures. (I'm a painter on the side, so I do that on my own time!) I'm all about creating sites and apps that look great but also are usable, are accessible and align with your business goals.
Personality. I'm known for having colorful hair — and a colorful personality! Of course, I'm also 100% professional. I don't miss deadlines or overshoot budgets, and my Type A organizational skills might just frighten you.
By the way, all my work comes from referrals — and that must mean something. Find out for yourself what all the fuss is about.
